A tasty egg, who doesn’t love it! The great thing about it is also that you can cook eggs to your own taste. Everyone prefers their eggs a certain way. And there can be some differences. In this article, I’ll take you through a few different ways you can cook an egg.

Method 1: The traditional way of cooking

boiling eggs

This is the method familiar to many.

  1. You place the eggs in a pan of water. You put them in a medium to large pan and you fill it with water until the eggs are completely covered.

By the way, the eggs should be at room temperature before they start cooking. Then you will have better results. Generally, it is common for eggs to crack during cooking. This is less likely to happen when you use cold eggs.

In addition, keep in mind that cooking older eggs is more beneficial than cooking fresh eggs. You can more easily remove the skin from an egg that is several days old.

  1. You bring the water to a boil over medium heat.
  1. You turn off the heat and cover the pan. Once the eggs begin to boil you turn off the heat, cover the pan and let the eggs cook in the hot water for a while longer. Exactly how much time depends on how you like the eggs. Soft, medium,. or hard boiled, it can be completely as you like!
  1. After this put the eggs in cold water, leave the eggs in cold, ideally ice water for at least 10 minutes.

How do you cook a poached egg?

  1. Boil water in a medium saucepan. Do not let the water boil completely and fill the pan halfway with water, not completely full.
  2. Break the egg and lower it into the boiling water. Break the egg into a ladle for the most convenience. Place the eggs in the boiling water one at a time.
  3. After the eggs have cooked on the bottom for about a minute, gently scrape off the bottom with a spatula. Continue cooking the eggs for 3 to 5 minutes. When done, the yolk will be runny, so be careful with this!
  4. Remove the eggs with a spatula

Method 3: Sunny-Side Up!

An egg prepared this way always goes down well with me.

  1. Spray a skillet with non-stick spray. Put a skillet on the stove over medium-high heat and wait a few minutes for it to heat up. It is important that the pan is really hot.
  1. Crack the egg into the pan. Make 1 egg at a time to avoid coagulation of egg whites, or use multiple pans. Do drop the eggs carefully to make sure the yolks will not break.
  1. Cook the eggs until the egg whites are solidified. This takes around 3 minutes. You should not flip the egg while cooking, or move the egg.
  1. Use a spatula to gently lift the egg out of the pan. Do carefully to make sure the yolk doesn’t crack open.

Method 4: Deliciously easy

Scrambled egg

Ever had scrambled eggs from the microwave? It’s much tastier than you think, plus it’s quick to prepare and you can enjoy it right away.

  1. Whisk together the ingredients you have in a microwave-safe bowl. Break the egg, add some milk, salt and pepper and keep whisking this until well mixed.
  1. Put the microwave on the highest setting for around 45 seconds. The eggs should become one with the ingredients. Stir the eggs so that solid and liquid parts exchange places.
  1. After you have stirred, you should microwave the egg for another 30 to 45 seconds. The eggs should already be almost solidified when you take them out of the microwave the first time, though, so keep that in mind.

  2. Crack the eggs into your baking pan or baking dish and add cream if necessary.
  3. Then sprinkle the egg with salt, pepper and cheese, if desired.
  4. Bake it in the oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Place the egg in the preheated oven and cook it until the egg white is set. Keep in mind that the yolks should still be soft.
