Starting the day with a delicious and healthy juice is recommended for everyone. But sometimes it can be quite difficult to have inspiration for juice recipes. Fortunately, we like to help you on your way and that’s why we are sharing our 5 favorite juice recipes that you can make at home with your juicer or slow juicer. Let’s get started quickly.
Juicing: what do you need?
To make fresh juice, you need (leafy) fruits and vegetables. Of course, it is important that the ingredients are fresh. Before you can start, rinse all the ingredients under the tap. One advantage with juicing: you don’t need to peel the fruits and vegetables. In fact, the skin is often the healthiest!
Fresh me up!
This healthy juice is made from leafy vegetables and pineapple; which gives a very refreshing feeling. You add a little lime to balance the sweetness of the pineapple. This is more of a vegetable juice, but the pineapple makes it taste really good!
- Pineapple: 200 gr.
- Spinach: 50 gr.
- Cucumber: 200 gr.
- Lime juice: 1 teaspoon
- Optional: celery
Spice me Up!
There is almost no better combination between carrot, orange juice and a little ginger. To make it a little healthier; we also add a little turmeric. Preferably fresh turmeric, as the powder doesn’t mix as well.
- Carrot: 200 ml
- Orange juice: 200 ml
- Turmeric: 4 gr = 1 cm
- Ginger: 6 gr = 1.2 cm
For the tumeric and ginger, we do recommend peeling them.
Beet me Up!
The Beet Me Up is a healthy vegetable juice. Again, we use the pineapple here to make the juice slightly sweeter, but the milder flavors of the cucumber keeps the juice perfectly balanced.
- Pineapple: 300 gr
- Cucumber: 150 gr.
- Red beets: 100 gr.
- Ginger: 6 cm = 1,2 cm
Personally, I like to add a little more ginger, but of course this varies per person. If you don’t like sweetness, halve the amount of pineapple.
Tropical Feelings!
The Tropical Feelings is actually a very simple juice, but still very tasty. As the name suggests, this juice consists of tropical fruits. Adding a little lime or lemon juice does the trick!
- 200 gr. watermelon
- 200 gr. pineapple
- Lime juice: 1 teaspoon
Conclusion: how to make a nice juice?
Basically, it doesn’t really matter what you throw in the slow juicer: it always tastes refreshing. But for the perfect juice, a good distribution of vegetables (less sweet) and fruits (sweet) is very important. If you make a juice from only fruit, it will soon taste too sweet. Moreover, it is also heart healthy to add some vegetables or leafy greens.
